Peter Toth

Peter Toth joined Rio Tinto in April 2014 and became head of corporate development in 2015 and group executive of strategy and development in October 2020. Mr Toth stepped down from the executive committee in October 2021 but remained in an advisory role until the end of 2021, before leaving the company on 5 April 2022.

Prior to Rio Tinto, he spent over 5 years as chief executive of OM Holdings and over 14 years with BHP Billiton where he was marketing director of its carbon steel materials group. Prior to the BHP and Billiton merger in 2001, Mr Toth held senior marketing roles at Billiton's Samancor Manganese business in Australia and the Netherlands, and worked in junior management roles at BHP Steel and BHP Manganese.
