Peter Hearl has been appointed non-executive director of Santos since 10 May 2016 and is a member of their audit and risk committee.
During an 18-year career in the oil industry with Esso Australia, a subsidiary of oil giant Exxon, Mr Hearl held a variety of senior marketing, operations, logistics and strategic planning positions. He joined PepsiCo as KFC Australia’s Director of Operations in 1991 and held several regional vice president and managing director roles before becoming YUM Brands’ global chief operating & development officer in 2006, based in Dallas, Texas and Louisville, Kentucky.
Mr Hearl is a non-executive director of Australia’s largest telecommunications company, Telstra, since August 2014 and serves on its remuneration committee. He has also been a non-executive director of the Australian-listed global wine company, Treasury Wine Estates, since 2012. Mr Hearl was non-executive director of Goodman Fielder from 2010 until it was sold to overseas interests in 2015.
