Peter Albert is an experienced mining executive with over 35 years of experience in the mining industry, across multiple commodities and spanning Australia, Asia, Africa and Europe. He also spent over 25 years as chief executive and senior executive of listed mining companies in Australia and Asia.
Mr Albert is the chief executive and managing director of 29Metals, and joined EMR Capital in 2020 as chief executive of its copper portfolio. Prior to that, he was the chief executive of ASX-listed Highfield Resources, Jinchuan International and G-Resources; and executive general manager of Asia for ASX-listed Oxiana (later known as OZ Minerals. Mr Albert also held roles with Fluor Australia, Shell-Billiton Australia, Davy John Brown and Johannesburg Consolidated Investments.
Mr Albert holds a Bachelor of Minerals Engineering (Honours) from the University of Birmingham, and an Executive MBA from the Monash-Mount Eliza Business School in Melbourne. He is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors; a member of the UK Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (MIMO3); a Chartered Engineer (UK); and a Fellow of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy.
