Talent squeeze limits franchise growth
Western Australia’s resources boom may be driving the state’s economy, but it’s also restricting the franchising industry’s potential for ongoing growth.
Peter Abetz was a Liberal Party member of the Western Australian Legislative Assembly for Southern River from 2008 to 2017.
In 1974, Mr Abetz worked as a farm advisory officer in the Tasmanian Department of Agriculture before running a small statewide rural supplies business.
After completing a Bachelor of Divinity, he was ordained as a pastor in the Christian Reformed Churches of Australia and served in that capacity for 25 years before entering Parliament.
He has been the WA director of the Australian Christian Lobby since 2018, and was elected to the council of the City of Gosnells in 2017.
