Paul Bakker is the program director for the development and operations analysis team at Sapien Cyber. He is an engineering professional with more than 10 years of experience in the energy & resources sector after serving over 18 years in the Australian Defence Force. He is a Chartered Professional Engineer with a Bachelor of Engineering, Masters in Maintenance and Reliability, and is pursuing a PhD in Cyber Security at Edith Cowan University. For 10 years, Mr Bakker has been engaged across the Industrial Control Systems (ICS) sector on numerous multi-discipline brownfield projects for both onshore and offshore assets including the Karratha Gas Treatment Plant, the North Rankin A and B, Goodwyn Alpha and Angel platforms, the Northern Endeavour and OKHA Floating Production, as well as storage and offloading vessels for Woodside. He has also worked on projects for INPEX, Chevron, South32 and Rio Tinto. Before transitioning to the energy & resources sector, Mr Bakker completed 18 years of service in the Air Force which included three years as a software design engineer where he directed classified software upgrades to the Electronic Warfare software suite for the entire fleet of Australian F/A-18 Hornets.
