Dr Paul Bailey graduated from the University of WA with a Bachelors degree in Medicine and Surgery (MBBS). He also holds a PhD in Molecular Biology & Physiology where he examined the functional and structural characteristics of three Australian jellyfish.
During his hospital career, Dr Bailey worked extensively throughout Western Australia with a focus on emergency medicine and critical care. He was a staff specialist in emergency medicine at Joondalup Health Campus and director of emergency medicine at St John of God Hospital in Murdoch prior to being a retrieval consultant with CareFlight while holding a substantive role as the medical director of St John Ambulance in Western Australia from April 2015 to July 2022. He has been with CareFlight since January 2008, providing domestic medical retrieval in NSW and Northern Territory.
