Nick Franey is an exploration geologist with more than 35 years of experience across a broad range of projects, from grassroots to feasibility study level and including near-mine operations. He has explored for most types of gold and base metal deposits in a variety of geological terranes, in more than 20 countries on three continents. Mr Franey began his career with Anglo American as a field geologist and rose through the ranks to become vice president of exploration (Africa) before transferring to Perth as vice president of exploration (Asia-Pacific). Subsequent executive appointments at Anvil Mining, OceanaGold, Discovery Metals, Azumah Resources and Renaissance Minerals have provided exposure to both mid-tier and junior companies in the industry. Mr Franey is a member of the Australian Institute of Geoscientists and the Society of Economic Geologists.
