Natalie Whitby is a qualified mediator and experienced in dispute resolution. She was admitted to practice in 1996 and worked in an international accounting firm before joining an international law firm in the area of commercial litigation.
Mrs Whitby was a Registrar of the Supreme Court for 11 years where she presided over numerous dispute mediations, case-managed civil actions and conducted public examinations pursuant to the Corporations Act. She has acted as a Master and Principal Registrar for that Court; holds a commission as an acting Magistrate; exercised in serious criminal matters; and acted as an instructing solicitor to senior counsel in Supreme, District and Federal Court trials. Mrs Whitby was appointed a judge of the District Court of Western Australia in June 2021 before becoming a judge of the Supreme Court from May 2023.
Mrs Whitby holds a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Commerce from Murdoch University, and has taught civil procedure and commercial law at the University of WA.
