Michele Villa is a sustainability consultant and entrepreneur with over 30 years of experience in providing environmental and social impact consulting services to the oil & gas, mining, manufacturing and public service sectors across Europe and Australia. His purpose is integrating sustainability issues into the long-term financial success of organisations.
His areas of specialisation include identifying risk, improving business performance and implementing best practice for future emissions trading, environmental and health and safety management systems, sustainability programs and waste management.
Mr Villa joined GHD Digital in July 2021 to lead its D-Lab operations in Western Australia, as innovation and environment leader.
In January 2019, Mr Villa founded NexStep Consulting which offers sustainability consulting, and supporting organisations in achieving their sustainability goals. He created NexStep after 3 years at DuPont's Sustainable Solutions division and after over 7 years leading the climate change and sustainability services for Ernst & Young's Western Australia office. In September 2019, with some partners & friends, Mr Villa created ADAM (Alternative Data Management) AI Solutions which is an innovative startup developing a risk profiling tool to support the prevention of workplace injuries. In October 2019, he co-founded Ocean Cycles, a small company hiring and selling electric bicycles in Fremantle.
Mr Villa is a member of Curtin University's MBA/ExecEd advisory panel, and a Registered Greenhouse Gas and Energy Auditor under the NGER Act in Australia.
