Fewer than 150 people have been lured by cash payments of up to $6,000 to move to the regions and help with farm work.
Michaelia Cash is an Australian politician who has been a Senator for Western Australia since July 2008, representing the Liberal Party.
She was the Minister for Small and Family Business, Skills and Vocational Education in the Morrison Government, having previously been the Minister for Jobs and Innovation in the Turnbull Government, and before that as Minister for Employment and Minister for Women from September 2015 to December 2017. She became the deputy leader in the Senate in October 2020. In March 2021, Ms Cash became the Attorney General and the Minister for Industrial Relations following a federal cabinet reshuffle. In June 2022, following the Liberal Party's defeat at the federal election, Ms Cash became the Deputy Opposition Leader in the Senate and the Shadow Minister for Employment & Workplace Relations in the Dutton shadow ministry.
