Michael Feutrill SC was appointed to the Federal Court on 8 March 2022.

Justice Feutrill began his career as a barrister and solicitor in 1997 at a boutique litigation firm and later at Freehill Hollingdale & Page (now Herbert Smith Freehills). In 2002, he joined the Western Australian independent bar. He had also worked in international arbitration with Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer’s Paris office, and practiced solely as a barrister in commercial litigation and arbitration.

Justice Feutrill was appointed senior counsel in 2018. He is an honorary fellow of the University of Western Australia Law School where he teaches International Commercial Arbitration and has also taught International Investment in Mineral Resources.

Justice Feutrill graduated from the University of Western Australia with a Bachelor of Economics, a Bachelor of Law, and a Masters of Laws.
