Michael Boggs

Michael Boggs has extensive senior executive experience and significant background in the telecommunications and technology sectors with executive roles in the finance, commercial and business functions of major organisations including Telstra’s New Zealand operations.

He became chief executive of New Zealand Media and Entertainment (NZME) in March 2016 and was the chief financial officer for a year prior. His core focus at NZME has been to develop and implement a group wide strategy to accelerate growth across its brands, particularly in the areas of subscription and classified offerings, digital and video content, while ensuring the sustainable growth of the company’s traditional print and radio platforms.

Mr Boggs was also chief financial officer of leading insurance company Tower where he managed the company’s multibillion-dollar assets, its Pacific Islands operations, earthquake recovery programme, and the sale of its life insurance, health insurance and investment management businesses. This industry leading work was recognised in 2014 when he was awarded CFO Of The Year at the annual New Zealand CFO Awards.
