Michael Ashforth has extensive experience and connectivity, particularly within the natural resources sector. He also had a long and esteemed career as an investment banker and lawyer.
Mr Ashforth was executive chair of AMB Holdings, the private holding company of iron ore heiress Angela Bennett, and represented AMB on the board of Wright Prospecting. Prior to that, Mr Ashforth spent five years at Macquarie Capital where he was executive director and head of natural resources for Australia, 13 years at Gresham Partners where he led the establishment of its Perth office, and was a partner at law firm Freehills.
In November 2022, Mr Ashforth was appointed a special advisor to Goldman Sachs. He will be based in Perth.
