Mauro Neves de Moraes is a mechanical engineer and global executive with over 30 years of industry experience across the resources and logistics sectors. He has been involved in driving operational and strategic business performance for some of the world’s biggest mining companies.
Mr de Moraes will become chief executive and managing director of Incitec Pivot on 22 January 2024. Prior to that, he spent over 6.5 years with BHP and has held the roles of asset president for its Escondida operations in Chile, the largest copper mine in the world; and asset president for BHP Mitsubishi Alliance in Queensland, Australia’s largest producer and supplier of seaborne metallurgical coal. He was also the executive vice president of commercial and marketing at Aurizon Holdings, global coal director with Vale SA where he led its coal business operations in Australia, Colombia, Mozambique and China.
Mr de Moraes holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Science, Business Logistics and Administration.
