Maud Edmiston arrived in Perth in 1968 with her husband Ken. Within three years Miss Maud opened her first store in Carillon City in 1971 and, in 1973, brought Swedish style smörgåsbord dining to Perth with the opening of Miss Maud Swedish Hotel and Restaurant on the corner of Pier & Murray Streets. Miss Maud, as she likes to be known, was announced as the Qantas/Bulletin Business Woman of the Year in 1992. In May 2018, Miss Maud opened its 18th store in Rockingham.

    Miss Maud Hotel sold to Stockholm Hotel Management

    Miss Maud’s Swedish Hotel and Restaurant at the corner of Pier and Murray streets has been sold to private company Stockholm Hotel Management, with the price rumoured to be around $10 million.
