A hospitality industry veteran has brought a bit of LA glitz to Perth’s entertainment scene.
Matthew Pavlich is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Fremantle Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL) from 2000 until his retirement in 2016, including a 9-year stint as captain. In 2014, he became the first player from a Western Australian-based club to reach 300 AFL games.
Mr Pavlich had also achieved All-Australian selection six times, twice representing Australia in the International Rules Series, and representing the Dream Team in the 2008 AFL Hall of Fame Tribute Match.
In April 2018, Mr Pavlich became a sports presenter on Nine News Perth and a correspondent for Nine's Wide World of Sports coverage of the Hopman Cup Tennis tournament in Perth.
In June 2022, he was inducted into the AFL Hall Of Fame.
