Sense of place in stadium design
The team behind Optus Stadium wanted to make sure the venue’s design had a distinctly local flavour.
Matthew Batchelor graduated with honours from Curtin University of Technology in 1991 and immediately joined Howlett and Bailey Architects (which merged with Cox Architecture in 1995). He registered as an architect in 1995, appointed as an associate in 2005, and became a director in 2016. Mr Batchelor has experience in design, documentation and contract administration of complex public and commercial buildings across sport, education, cultural and community, office and residential, justice and technology development sectors.
