Matt Bamford joined SportWest in February 2016 as operations manager and became member & partnerships manager in July 2021.
Prior to that, he was employed in touch football for 20 years – first as a community club administrator, through a development role for eight years, a state manager, before becoming part of Touch Football Australia’s senior leadership team for seven years. In that time, Mr Bamford oversaw staff across much of Australia and also played a key role in significant management and governance change in Western Australia and nationally. He was also the Capital Football (Soccer) Junior League administrator in Canberra, with experience in sports management and delivery since 1995.
Mr Bamford graduated from the University of Canberra with a degree in Sports Administration and Sports Media, and did a practicum placement with Swimming Australia during his final year at university.
