Gold miners buffeted by costs
Western Australia’s second largest gold miner says turnover among some of the specialist skilled trades in the sector has increased to 50 per cent.
Martin Preece has over 37 years of mining experience.
Mr Preece is the interim chief executive of the Gold Fields Group, a position he has held since January 2023. He joined Gold Fields as executive vice president of South Africa in May 2017, leading the successful ramp up of the South Deep mine since then. Prior to joining Gold Fields, Mr Preece was chief operating officer of De Beers South Africa.
