Mark Pownall has been involved with Business News since joining as editor in 2000. During that period, largely running the content team, the newspaper successful transitioned from a free circulation model to a paid subscriber base and introduced of a range of digital news and data products.
Mark was CEO for almost three years before becoming Director of Strategy & Innovation in late 2019. In 2022 he returned to being a full time journalist.
He has more than 30 years of experience in newspapers, broadcast and digital media in Perth and London as well as a Bachelor of Commerce from UWA and a Graduate Diploma in English from Curtin University.
