It’s up, up and away as expansion hits top gear
Across the Pilbara, in the Mid West, Yilgarn and Great Southern, WA’s iron ore sector is planning substantial growth.
Mark Hancock is a Chartered Accountant with over 30 years of experience in key financial, commercial and marketing roles across a variety of industries with a strong focus on natural resources.
He commenced his career in public practice and subsequently held senior financial management roles across a variety of industries in Australia and South East Asia with companies including Woodside Petroleum, Premier Oil and Lend Lease. During his 13 years at Atlas Iron, Mr Hancock served in numerous roles including as chief commercial officer, chief financial officer, executive director and company secretary. He was also a director of several ASX-listed entities.
Mr Hancock holds a Bachelor of Business, and is a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australia.

Iron ore producer Atlas Iron has appointed its chief commercial officer Mark Hancock and lawyer Geoff Simpson to its board, as part of the company’s expansion plans.
Atlas Iron has reduced the size of its board and cut pay for the remaining directors to help reduce costs amid weak iron ore prices.
Atlas Iron non-executive director David Hannon has resigned from the company's board with immediate effect to focus on family matters, with the company yet to announce a replacement.
Atlas Iron has appointed current chief financial officer Chris Els as joint company secretary. Mark Hancock will step down as joint company secretary but remains with the company as chief commercial officer.
