Mark Connelly is an experienced listed-company chair, held extensive leadership roles within the resources industry, as well as direct operational and capital markets experience in various jurisdictions including Australia, North America, South America, Africa and Europe.
His track record for deal making in Africa includes the US$570 million merger of Papillon Resources with B2 Gold Corp in 2014 and the USD$600 million merger of Adamus Resources with Endeavour Mining in 2011. He was instrumental in the development, construction and commissioning of Endeavour’s Nzema gold mine in Ghana. More recently, he was the chairman of West African Resources through the development, construction and commissioning of the Sanbrado mine in Burkina Faso and chairman of engineering company Primero through its acquisition by NRW Holdings,
Earlier in his career, Mr Connelly held executive roles with several mining companies, including five years with Adamus Resources, five years with Newmont Mining Corporation, USA and 12 years with Inmet Mining Corporation, Canada.
Mr Connelly is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, the Australian Institute of Management, and the Society of Mining Metallurgy and Exploration.
