
Mark Callander has been a key player in New Zealand’s competitive telco market for almost two decades. As chief executive of CallPlus, Mr Callander positioned the company as a true competitor to the incumbents. The growth and reputation of CallPlus positioned it strongly in the industry and through its multiple brands (including Slingshot and Orcon) has achieved 15% market share. CallPlus has been widely recognised as the ‘consumer champion’ and for driving change in the New Zealand regulatory and competitive landscape. Now, as the leader of the Vocus New Zealand business and member of the Australian executive, Mr Callander is focused on further growth and getting Vocus services into 1 in 4 New Zealand homes. He also has experience within the FMCG market, having previously held senior management roles in this area. Mr Callander holds a Bachelor of Management Studies from the University of Waikato and completed the Leadership for Senior Executives program with Harvard Business School. He is also a Trustee of Not For Me Charitable Trust and a board member of the Telecommunications Carriers Forum.
