Margaret Doherty

Margaret Doherty is an experienced advocate for consumers with mental health, alcohol and drug issues. Her professional background includes roles as the coordinator of an alternative high school based on student-centred principles, case manager and senior advice officer with Corrective Services, trainer & facilitator, drug and alcohol counsellor, and small business owner. In February 2010, Ms Doherty convened a community action and advocacy group called Mental Health Matters 2. She is a member of the WA Mental Health Advisory Council (appointed chair in November 2019), co-chair of the Forensic sub-network, and holds undergraduate degrees in Arts and Commerce and postgraduate qualifications in Education and Mental Health.
