Marcus Solomon is a barrister and legal educator with expertise in a wide range of commercial matters.
Mr Solomon graduated from Law at the University of Western Australia with First Class Honours in 1991, working as a solicitor and then a partner at two major law firms before moving to the independent Bar. He has been a barrister at Quayside Chambers since September 2006 and was appointed senior counsel in 2013, and a judge of the Supreme Court of WA in July 2021.
Mr Solomon has acted in complex commercial matters including property, contracts, insolvency, building and construction, planning and trade practices. He has conducted matters in all superior Courts, and in local & international arbitrations, where he has acted as counsel and arbitrator.
Mr Solomon has provided extensive pro-bono legal advice to community groups and to legal practitioners before the Legal Practitioners Complaints Committee and the State Administrative Tribunal. He is a member of the Legal Practice Board and has taught advocacy to junior barristers for the Australian Bar Association and the Western Australian Bar Association.
Mr Solomon is an ordained Rabbi who holds leadership positions within the Jewish community. He established the Beit Midrash of WA, a Jewish educational institution, in 1993.
