Wall of capital for mining stocks
A flood of money for goldminers has defined WA’s corporate finance market this year, with Canaccord Genuity and Macquarie Capital leading the charge.
Marcus Freeman became chief executive of Canaccord Genuity Asia Pacific in February 2015. Mr Freeman co-founded BGF Equities in 2008 and following a 50% equity transaction with Canaccord Genuity Group, he became managing director & chief executive of Canaccord Genuity Australia in 2011.
With two decades of capital markets experience, Mr Freeman was originally recruited to the graduate program of PwC before relocating years later to London where he worked at Sakura Bank and Rabobank International in foreign exchange, and with Deutsche Bank in global equities.
He returned to Australia in 2000 to work in Bell Potter’s equities business for about eight years before founding BGF Equities.
