Marcelo Matos has over 20 years of experience in management, marketing, strategy and planning, and business development roles within the mining sector in Australia, Asia, Mozambique and Brazil.
Mr Matos spent over 19 years at Vale in various senior roles including as chief marketing and strategy officer for coal and as managing director in Australia, where he was responsible for the various operations and projects in Australia and its interests at the Isaac Plains Joint Venture. He was also chief commercial officer of M Resources prior to joining Stanmore Coal in 2019 as an executive director and in September 2020 as chief executive.
Mr Matos has also co-founded some companies including Greenalgi which develops a floating bio photo reactor for the commercial scale offshore production of micro algae as raw material, and SUPPLIUS which is a new B2B online negotiation marketplace for group purchases.
