There’s an old saying in the exploration business - “If you want to hunt for elephants you need to go to elephant country." That message certainly hasn’t been lost on Sipa Resources who have just muscled into well known elephant country in the Pilbara that hosts the 10m ounce Telfer Gold mine and the 30 000 tonne a year Nifty Copper mine. Sipa will spend $3m to earn 80%.

Having established its credentials as a mining company capable of finding significant mineral deposits over the last 2 or 3 decades, Perth based Sipa Resources can afford to think big. This week they will kick off a drilling campaign at their Ugandan project looking for a big base load source of nickel and copper at the Akelikongo prospect. 

Accomplished base metals explorer Sipa Resources has experienced a breakthrough in their exploration activities at the Akelikongo project in Uganda. The company recently reported the discovery of an 11 meter mineralized zone that intersected matrix to semi-massive sulphides, potentially opening up a new high grade nickel/copper target area.

Sipa Resources’ share price jumped 20% last week on the back of what looks to be a successful drilling campaign at the Akelikongo nickel/copper Project in Uganda. The market is eagerly awaiting the results of the latest drilling campaign after the company announced last week they had hit significant mineralization in 10 out of 12 holes with all results currently pending.

Sipa Resources systematic approach to their Akelikongo nickel-copper prospect in Uganda appears to be paying off with the discovery of a very encouraging 10m intersection grading 1% Nickel and another 4m intersection grading 1.8% Copper. With Cobalt fetching up to 3 times the price of Nickel, the company was also encouraged to see reasonable Cobalt numbers in the results.

Sipa Resources might be onto something at their Akelikongo Nickel/Copper prospect in Uganda. The company recently completed a 12 hole RC drilling program returning solid numbers across very wide intercepts at the project, many of which start from surface. With mineralized intersections up to 120m thick, if they find something at Akelikongo it is likely to be damn big. 

Fresh from exploration success at their Ugandan base metals play, Sipa Resources are now about to drill their highly prospective new West Australian project in the Paterson region as the wet season takes hold in Uganda. The area is attracting the interest of the majors with Rio Tinto recently agreeing to spend $60m on neighbouring Antipa Mineral's ground to earn a 75% interest.

There’s nothing quite like confirmation that the drill rig has been booked for a maiden drilling campaign to get the gold bulls sniffing around. It becomes even more tempting for the bulls when the ground to be drill tested sits just 35km along trend from a nearby project that just produced a 63m intersection grading 2.2 grams per tonne gold and 0.19% copper.

Sipa Resources have more than doubled the anticipated cap on their share purchase plan to $4.2 million after a flood of applications from bullish shareholders. The rush coincides with the start of a maiden drilling program at the Paterson North project, which is on strike from the ground generating so much good news for Antipa and its JV partner Rio Tinto.

Interest in the Paterson copper-gold district in the north of W.A continued today with news from Sipa Resources that they had intersected copper-gold mineralization in 15 out of 19 holes during their maiden drilling program at the Obelisk project . The results showed an initial strike length of more than one kilometre, which remains open in all directions.

With a swag of drill results from two exciting projects on two different continents due out over the next few weeks, ASX punters will no doubt be watching Sipa Resources closely with one hand on the buy button. Sipa this week starts a new phase of drilling at Akelikongo, its highly-rated nickel-copper prospect in Uganda.

Sipa Resources’ search for a nickel-copper sulphide deposit in Uganda that can rival the famed Nova-Bollinger deposit in W.A, is looking more encouraging with each new set of assay and drill results. The latest set of numbers from the company's drill program at the Akelikongo nickel-copper project have returned strong hits of up to 2.4% nickel and 2% copper.

Sipa Resources' exploration program in the Paterson district in W.A has been recognised by a grant of up to $300,000 from the State and Federal Governments and the CSIRO. The new funds will provide a boost to the company’s search for a major copper-gold deposit, and follows up some very encouraging results from the company’s maiden reconnaissance drill program in the area.

Sipa Resources have kicked off their 2017 exploration programs in both Uganda and the Paterson region in the north of W.A. The company is a little different to many other exploration hopefuls in so much as both of their projects appear to boast huge mineralized systems and if they can find the source of the mineralization they may well have at least one and maybe two tier 1 projects. 

Sipa Resources’ hopes of uncovering a major nickel-copper discovery at Akelikongo in Uganda have been boosted by new geophysical surveys. The downhole EM surveys have found strong off-hole conductors, whilst a high-resolution ground magnetic survey suggests Akelikongo could be just one of many highly prospective targets in the area.
