Basil Zempilas has been elected the 56th lord mayor of the City of Perth.
Liam Gobbert is a project support officer at the Public Transport Authority, a Justice of the Peace, and a qualified town planner.
Mr Gobbert is also vice president of the Independent Theatre Association of WA, and was secretary for urban thinktank FuturePerth which promotes vibrancy, culture, and sustainability in the city.
Mr Gobbert has over 10 years of local government experience. He was a councillor at the City of Joondalup for 8 years including a year as deputy mayor, and elected as councillor at the City of Perth in October 2020.
