Lei Baker assisted with the South Suburban Music Society, the Loftus Community Centre Child Care Cooperative, and the North Perth Playgroup where she was President. She is also a Level ‘A’ accredited Tee-ball Coach and from 2009-2013, coached the Perth Cubs Ball Club. In 2015, Ms Baker became Team Manager for North Perth Basketball Club.
In 2010, when her three delightful boys commenced at Bold Park Community School, she began volunteering with the fundraising committee assisting with the organisation of many events for the school including Rock Quiz (2010-2012), the Inaugural Bold Art Show (2011), Spring Harvest Community Day (2011), discos and community information sessions. In 2011, Ms Baker joined the board as secretary and was chair from February 2014 to June 2018 before re-joining the school as a community engagement officer in March 2020.
She has held a diverse range of corporate positions including as functions coordinator for Carlton United Breweries group of Hotels, project coordinator and website management for Plumb Construction and Design. A key achievement was being part of the team which delivered the iconic flying tram to Melbourne Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony in 2006. Ms Baker was also a freelance art director and Art Department coordinator, citing Feature Films, TV Mini Series and Commercials as part of her portfolio.
Ms Baker has a Bachelor of Business (Management/Psychology) and is completing a Post Graduate Diploma in Applied Corporate Governance.
