Leanne Taylor joined Strategen Environmental in 2012 with over 15 years of experience in the Western Australian public sector, providing high-level strategic advice to senior executives and ministers. She became principal in July 2014 and continues in the role following the merger between Strategen Environmental and JBS&G Australia in July 2019. Her key areas of expertise relates to the preparation of Environmental Protection Act 1986 approvals, the provision of strategic environmental and approvals advice, environmental impact assessment and management, application of environmental legislation and policy, agency liaison and appeals. Since joining Strategen, Ms Taylor has provided environmental and approvals advice and support for a number of key projects including Mangles Bay Marina Based Tourist Precinct, Mulga Downs Iron Ore Project, and Norwest Energy EP413 Seismic Survey. Ms Taylor was deputy appeals convenor under the Environmental Protection Act 1986 and was responsible for investigating and reporting on appeals for the Minister for the Environment and coordinating the approval of ministerial statements. Through previous government roles, Ms Taylor has extensive experience in environmental regulation and has developed well established government agency networks over her career in the Western Australian public sector.
