Leanne Preston established Wild Child back in 1997, when she recognised the need for a natural head lice treatment. Quitnits is now sold throughout Australia, US, UK and EU. Overseas clients include Boots UK, CVS, Walgreen, Walmart, AS Watson and Riteaid. In 2007, Ms Preston was awarded Telstra Australian Business Woman of the Year. In 2011, Wild Child was selected by Target Australia to create a natural range of personal care, baby care and sunscreen products. In 2013, the company opened its own manufacturing facility in Western Australia. Ms Preston died in November 2023 at the age of 65 after a lengthy battle with breast cancer.
