This year’s Most Influential feature has been narrowed down to the 50 people in WA making the biggest impact in business and politics.
Ken Wyatt AM was an Australian politician and former member of the Liberal Party. He was a member of the House of Representatives, representing the Division of Hasluck in Western Australia from 2010 to 2022. Mr Wyatt became the first Indigenous Australian elected to the House of Representatives, the first to serve as a government minister, and the first to be appointed to cabinet as federal Minister for Indigenous Australians.
He was appointed Member of the Order of Australia in June 1996 and was awarded Centenary Medal in 2003. Mr Wyatt was also awarded the Indigenous Education Warrior Award at the World Indigenous People's Conference in 2008.
