Ken Brinsden is a mining engineer with over 30 years of experience in surface and underground mining operations, including roles in mine management, production, brownfields and green-fields development, executive and board memberships across multi-commodities.
Mr Brinsden graduated from the Western Australian School of Mines in 1993.
He joined Pilbara Minerals as chief executive in January 2016 and was managing director & chief executive from May 2016 to July 2022. He led the rapid development of the company from a junior explorer to become one of the world’s leading lithium raw materials players and entry to the ASX100. Mr Brinsden had also held production, management, brownfields and greenfields mine development roles at WMC Resources, Normandy, Central Norseman Gold Corporation, GoldFields and Iluka Resources.
He was appointed non-executive chair of Patriot Battery Metals in August 2022 before relocating to Canada to become chief executive in January 2024.
