Kate Wood spent most of her professional career helping governments support communities to cope with climate change.
As the executive director for climate change at the Victorian Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning, Ms Wood developed a new approach for climate change policy development, drove departmental cultural change, and represented Victoria at the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change 21st Conference of the Parties in Paris. She returned to Perth in 2016 and has been with the Department of Communities WA since March 2018.
