With a scorecard boasting 105 tests and 7966 runs (including 23 test centuries and three double centuries), Justin Langer AM is considered one of Australia’s greatest top-order batsmen.
While playing county cricket in the UK in 2009, he surpassed Don Bradman as the most prolific batsman in Australian cricket history with a total of 28,068 first class runs.
In 2009, he was appointed assistant coach of the Australian cricket team. In 2012, he became coach of Western Australian cricket (Western Warriors & Perth Scorchers). He left his WA role in 2018 when he was named coach Australia's national cricket team.
In 2008, Mr Langer was awarded a Member of the Order of Australia for service to cricket as a player and mentor and to the community, particularly through fundraising and support for a wide range of charities, including children's leukaemia and cancer research organisations.
In 2014, he was awarded the Western Australian of the Year Award for Sport.
