Since 2000, Josh Abbott's practice has focused on navigating employers through the legal framework of the modern workplace. He represents employers in all aspects of the employment relationship including drafting contracts, policies & procedures, advising on workplace disciplinary and bullying issues, restructuring & termination of employment, industrial relations and workers compensation advice, & claims management. Mr Abbott acts in all employment related disputes including unfair dismissal, harassment, bullying, general protections, underpayment claims and prosecutes client protection, confidentiality and restraint of trade actions for employers. He advises on compliance with Work Health & Safety laws and Environment Protection laws, due diligence obligations for boards and directors, and defends prosecutions arising from workplace and environmental incidents. His practice also includes risk management and insurance coverage advice and resolving indemnity disputes including personal insurance, professional indemnity, public liability as well as directors’ and officers’ liability policies. Mr Abbott was awarded a Professional Certificate in Arbitration from the University of Adelaide in 2004 and adopts alternative dispute resolution processes to quickly resolve disputes.
