West Perth-based Transit Holdings has announced plans to spin out its iron ore assets into a new company known as Radar Iron.
IRON ore producers in the state’s Yilgarn region are not immune from the hurdles facing producers in the Pilbara and Mid West – port capacity and access issues, transportation and infrastructure – but the state government’s intention to expand Esperance port could pave the way for the region to b
The depressed iron ore price is prompting “gun shy” Padbury Mining to increase its tenement asset base, snapping up a hematite and magnetite deposit owned by Radar Iron.
Perth-based Radar Iron is planning an exit from the resources industry through a reverse takeover of Israeli technology company Weebit-Nano.
Israeli technology company Weebit-Nano failed to excite investors on its ASX debut, with its shares lower at the close of trade.
Three Western Australian gold explorers have launched IPOs this past week, with the biggest raising headed by Subiaco-based Barton Gold.
Ozz Resources has become the latest explorer to list on the ASX, with its search for gold to begin this month using some of the proceeds from its $5 million IPO.

West Perth-based explorer Zuleika Gold has appointed Jonathan Lea as Managing Director, aiming to use his combination of geology and corporate experience of 35-plus years to drive the junior explorer’s pursuit of opportunities. Lea’s career spans gold, iron ore and base metals in open- cut and underground operations in Australia and overseas. Most recently he was Managing Director of Ozz Resources.
Gold explorer Zuleika Gold has uncovered further promising results from drilling and soil geochemistry work across the company’s large and highly prospective tenement package that sits less than 25km north-west of Kalgoorlie. Some of the best results include a 3m hit going 2.63 g/t gold from 13m and a 223ppb gold anomaly. Once heritage clearance has been received the company plans to kick off its next phase of air core drilling in October.
ASX-listed explorer Zuleika Gold has hit the go button on a 73-hole, 4490m air-core drilling program across a trio of target areas within its larger Zuleika and Credo projects near Kalgoorlie in Western Australia. The company is chasing gold across a raft of structural targets and says the probe could be completed by November with results due by the end of the year.
Zuleika Gold shares popped more than 16 per cent after the WA Supreme Court found in its favour in litigation the company took against fellow explorer Vango Mining and a subsidiary over a farm-in joint venture at a northern Goldfields tenement. Zuleika declared it had been “wholly successful” and flagged an imminent claim for damages.
With its Goongarrie tenements renewed for a further five years, explorer Zuleika Gold has assembled boots on ground in its hunt for gold and nickel within the company’s under-explored tenure in WA’s goldfields. The company has commenced a 740-sample soil geochemistry program designed to infill previous geochemical sampling and extend the coverage over the 20km-long prospective greenstone belt.
