John Watts

John Watts graduated with a Bachelor of Science majoring in geology, with honours, from the University College of Wales at Aberystwyth in the UK in 1968. Arriving in Australia that year, he commenced employment with the Bureau of Mineral Resources, being dispatched from Canberra to the Northern Territory. From 1970 to 1977, he worked for private resource groups and was mostly onsite. In 1977, Mr Watts commenced as a consultant geologist in Western Australia and in 1980, he joined McKay & Schnellmann as principal geologist and director, remaining in that role till 1999, and travelling throughout the world on assignments. He has since continued resource consulting with various groups.
