John Vaughan SC entered legal practice in 1992 and was a barrister at Francis Burt Chambers before becoming senior counsel in 2013. He practised for many years as a barrister and solicitor, before joining the Independent Bar in 2007. Mr Vaughan has more than 25 years of legal experience and continues to practice as a barrister at the Independent Bar from Francis Burt Chambers. He has practised predominantly in the area of insolvency, commercial litigation and taxation, appearing mainly in the Supreme Court of Western Australia and the Federal Court of Australia. Mr Vaughan has represented insolvency practitioners, financial institutions, large to mid-sized corporations, and Commonwealth and State entities. He has been a member of numerous professional bodies and associations throughout his legal career including as a member of the Legal Practice Board of Western Australia, Law Society of WA, Western Australian Bar Association, and the Business Law Section of the Law Council of Australia. Mr Vaughan was chair of the Insolvency and Construction Law Committee.
