John Pollaers OAM has over 30 years of experience in manufacturing, government advisory committees, FMCG, healthcare, education and the not-for-profit sectors.
His executive career commenced with Diageo where he spent almost 20 years rising to the role of president Asia Pacific. He was also the chief executive of Pacific Brands, and chief executive of Fosters prior to its sale to SAB Miller.
Mr Pollaers is the chancellor of Swinburne University of Technology, and the chair & founder of Leef Independent Living Solutions.
He was independent chair of the Australian Financial Complaints Authority, chair of the Australian Advanced Manufacturing Council, chair of the Aged Care Workforce Strategy Taskforce for the Federal Government, chair of Skills Committee, and a member of the Prime Minister's Industry 4.0 Taskforce.
In 2018, Mr Pollaers was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia for services to the manufacturing sector, to education and to business.
He holds an MBA from Macquarie University/INSEAD, a Bachelor of Computer Science, and Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from UNSW.
