John Ogilvie is the financial administrator for the Catholic Diocese of Bunbury, a position he has held since relocating with his family from Perth more than a decade ago. He is responsible for the business management of the Diocese, its parishes and organisations and was project manager for the award winning rebuilding of Bunbury’s iconic St Patrick’s Cathedral and surrounding precinct.
Mr Ogilvie has extensive experience in accounting, budgeting, finance, investment, property funds management, project management and strategic planning.
He was a board member of Aquinas College and past president of the Old Aquinians Association. Mr Ogilvie has served on the boards of several sporting and not-for-profit organisations and is a life member of the Melville Water Polo Club.
He holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the Australian National University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment. He is a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia and a Certified Practicing Accountant.
In 2011, he received a Papal Honour from Pope Benedict XVI. Mr Ogilvie was awarded a Knighthood of the Order of St Gregory the Great and is only the fourth Western Australian to receive such an honour.
