Key role for Hartman driving Tattarang plans
As the chief investment officer at Andrew Forrest’s private company, 34-year-old John Hartman oversees a very large, extraordinarily diverse and fast-growing portfolio.
John Hartman is the most senior executive inside Andrew and Nicola Forrest’s private business and philanthropic empire.
He was appointed chief executive of their family investment company Tattarang in 2022. Previously, he had been chief investment officer. Since 2020, he has also been a director of Tattarang. In addition, he was appointed CEO at Minderoo in 2023. He joined the group in 2012 and has played a key role in its exponential growth. His numerous positions include being either a director or chair of Tattarang’s wholly-owned portfolio companies including Harvest Road Group, Wyloo Metals, Squadron Energy, RM Williams and Tenmile.
Mr Hartman is a graduate of the University of Sydney (2007) and in his early twenties was convicted of insider trading while working for Orion Asset Management.
