In 2005, John Hannaford co-founded boutique corporate advisory firm Ventnor Capital, which specialises in the provision of corporate services to the junior resources sector. As a director/authorised representative of Ventnor Securities and director of Ventnor Capital, he has been responsible for several new listings and M&A transactions, as principal and advisor, including Azimuth Resources (acquired by Troy Resources for $180m), Strickland Resources (now Orinoco Gold), Bathurst Resources, Transit Holdings (now Potash Minerals), Radar Iron, Monteray Mining (now Norwood Systems), Atlantic Limited, Comdek (now Resource Generation) and Bone Medical. In 2016, Mr Hannaford retired from Ventnor Capital.
He has a wealth of experience in ASX financing, IPO/RTOs and the resources sector, where he has also served as a company secretary.
He started his career as an accountant with Arthur Andersen in Perth after graduating from UWA with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in 1986, majoring in finance and economics. After completing his chartered accountancy qualifications he worked in France and London, first in the finance department of a major multinational sporting goods company, then in the private banking division of a prominent private bank.
Mr Hannaford also holds a Diploma of Applied Finance and Investment with the Securities Institute of Australia, and was admitted as an associate of the Institute in 2003.
