John Dawkins AO was chair of Law Central from its early beginnings in March 2000 until March 2006. He was also chair of Sovereign Gold Company, Australian Bauxite and Precious Metal Resources; director of M&C Saatchi Direct, Cbus and Tiaro Coal.
For over 10 years, Mr Dawkins served on the board of Sealcorp Holdings (now Asgard Wealth Solutions) and was chair of Elders Rural Bank and Retail Energy Market Company.
Mr Dawkins has consulted to several large Australian and overseas companies, the World Bank and the OECD. Until his retirement from politics in 1994, he served as a Minister in the Federal Government for 10 years and in the House of Representatives for 18 years.
In 2000, Mr Dawkins was a made an Officer of the Order of Australia for services to the reform of international trade as Foundation Chair of the Cairns Group; the reform of the federal budget, education and training; and to the Australian Parliament.
