Jérôme Pécresse is a French citizen and resident with over 30 years of business experience, including senior leadership roles in global companies within the mining and energy industries.
Mr Pécresse has been the chief executive of Rio Tinto's aluminium business since October 2023. Prior to that, he has been the president and chief executive of General Electric's (GE) renewable energy business. He joined GE in 2015, when GE completed its acquisition of Alstom’s energy activities. He had also led the renewable energy business at Alstom. Prior to joining Alstom in 2011, Mr Pécresse spent 13 years in the mining and metals processing industry at Paris-based global industrial minerals producer Imerys, holding various roles including as chief operating officer.
