Jeremy Newman advises clients on a broad range of corporate and commercial matters, with a particular focus on listed entities. He provides practical and commercial advice in relation to the ASX Listing Rules, JORC reporting, equity capital markets, IPOs and backdoor listings.
Prior to becoming a foundation partner of Hamilton Locke's newly established Perth office in February 2022, Mr Newman was with Bellanhouse Lawyers, which later became part of HWL Ebsworth Lawyers. He was also a senior advisor in the Listings Compliance Unit at the ASX and worked on several projects concerning the development of ASX policy, giving him unique insights into both ASX and ASIC’s policy concerns regarding resource reporting and the development of new industries such as medicinal cannabis.
He regularly publishes articles on ASX and ASIC actions and policy drivers and other issues of interest to businesses operating in Australia.
Mr Newman was also an advisor with a financial and strategic advisory firm (now part of a big-four accounting firm) and as a solicitor in a commercial litigation team.
He has a Masters of International Relations from IE Business School in Madrid, and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
