Feds commit $11m to Bunbury port facility
The Abbott government has announced $10.8 million in funding to build a new road train assembly facility for heavy vehicles servicing Bunbury Port.
Jamie Briggs is a former Australian politician, who represented the House of Representatives seat of Mayo for the Liberal Party of Australia from the 2008 by-election to the 2016 federal election. Mr Briggs was promoted from a shadow parliamentary secretary role to the outer ministry at 2013 election of the Abbott Government. He was the Assistant Minister for Infrastructure & Regional Development and a senior adviser to Prime Minister John Howard.
Post-politics, Mr Briggs joined PwC in January 2018 and was a managing partner of its Adelaide office before becoming the head of external affairs at Scyne Advisory in November 2023. Scyne Advisory is a spinoff of PwC's public sector consulting arm.

Lend Lease has been selected to expand the Kwinana Freeway south of Roe Highway, in a $62 million contract announced by the state and federal governments today.
The $1 billion Gateway WA roads project is now 60 per cent finished, six months ahead of schedule, with final completion now projected by mid-2016.

The state government is at odds with the Commonwealth over plans to shelve the second stage of the $1.7 billion Perth Freight Link, with the federal minister for cities saying today the funding agreement was for both stages of the project, not just stage 1.
