Local distillers show winning spirit
Those who fancy a tipple of the finest vodka or whisky will be pleased to learn that two of the world’s best are made right here in Western Australia.

Jack of all trades and master of none could easily be applied to the long and varied path James Young has taken to distilling.
Having studied maths, physics, chemistry and computer science, before finishing with a psychology degree at the University of WA, premium distiller is Mr Young's fifth career in 20 years.
After leaving university he purchased a graphic design agency, before selling up and moving to Lithuania where he became the National Women’s Hockey Coach.
Upon return he worked in some of Perth’s biggest advertising agencies, before turning his skills to sports administration where he worked for Hockey Australia, Netball WA and finally as CEO at Swimming WA, before taking up the challenge of distilling world-class spirits.
