James Bruce has over 25 years of experience in international financial markets and operational roles within the West Australian resources industry.
Prior to becoming head of investor relations at Mineral Resources in April 2020, Mr Bruce was a partner and investment analyst at SailingStone Capital Partners LLC, a global natural resources investment manager based in San Francisco where he managed capital on behalf of university endowments, large family offices and charitable foundations. Prior to 2012, Mr Bruce was a portfolio manager and analyst at Perpetual Investments for ten years, where he managed Perpetual’s Global Resources Fund and the Australian Small Companies Fund. He started his career as a mining engineer working in managerial and operational positions at a number of West Australian gold and nickel operations.
Mr Bruce holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mining from the West Australian School of Mines, has an MBA from the University of WA, and a West Australian First Class Mine Managers Certificate.
